About Us

Sustainable - Ethical - Timeless - Transparent - Accessible

Serendipity intends to close the gap between style and sustainability.

As conscious consumers we struggled to find brands who provided clothes that reflected our personal style without compromising on our values of sustainability and ethical production. We would come across brands who claimed to do so, only to to find that their definition of sustainability was different to ours (to put it politely).

That’s why one of our core values is transparency, detailing our garments accreditations, origins, manufacturing process and so forth to the best of our ability. Further, we refrain from creating items that we cannot see ourselves wearing over and over, regardless of current trends. Through this we intend not to contribute to the fast fashion cycle of producing items that will be worn once and never again, items that lack timelessness and the ability to be styled throughout seasons.

Our pieces are designed to be the base of your wardrobe, quality designed to last. Dress them up, dress them down - you’ll be the best dressed either way.

Paying living wages and using high quality materials means that you won’t find our items at price points of brands who fail to do the same. We endeavour to make our items as accessible as possible, not over charging to meet excessive margins, but also ensuring the true value of the item is reflected.

Our Materials

All materials that we select have been chosen through great consideration. We give thought to how they were made, where they were made and who helped make them.

We use materials such as Tencel TM, certified organic cotton, linen and more. The materials we select hold relevant, and in our opinion - necessary, credentials like GOTS and OEKO-TEX. This means that we refuse to use materials that claim to be better for environment, but don’t have the certifications behind them. Further, our use of Tencel is always by the trademarked type, ensuring the material has adhered to the high standards of Lenzing and not contributed the illegal deforestation that often occurs with untrademarked Tencel material.

The full garment is considered, this means our thread also has accreditations such as being GOTS certified and our clothing labels are made from recycled PET bottles.

Our Process

Designs are made and brought to life in Perth. Here we work closely with our garment production team, refining designs, creating patterns, samples and eventually the end result. Our production team use a laser cutter to cut out each piece, enabling us to use the fabric to the full extent and minimise waste. Our sewers are also Perth based, receiving the cut outs from our production team and putting everything together. Excess material after production is collected and recycled.

Our people

Our production team is entirely based in Perth, Western Australia. Our sewers work from home and set their own wages, defining what they deserve to be paid for their work.

Equally as important are the people who were involved in the production of the fabrics and materials we use. When selecting materials we strive for as much transparency from the source of the item as possible. This means we attempt to obtain information about the working standards and practices in place for the people involved.

And, of course, you - our customers. We value your opinion and want to hear it. That’s why we have a designated contact for you to reach out and share any suggestions or feedback, ask questions or just to reach out for anything else. Additionally, we want to ensure that your experience with us is as real and empowering as possible. This is why we are committed to refrain from contributing to the unrealistic standards set by the industry, and at large social media. All of our product photos and general content are unedited. Skin looks like real skin, bodies look like real bodies and the clothes sit and move how they will on you at home (there are no hidden clamps holding things together, or fancy photoshop edits to cinch and smoothen). Our pieces are beautifully designed as they are, and so are you.
